The Greybeards keep the weathered steps open, showing the Way for those who would seek it. To seek the wisdom of the Greybeards is a pilgrimage like no other: 7000 perilous steps means not every man will complete the journey, and the few that do often won't find what they seek.
The Greybeards have an ancient and respected court including: Wardens to keep the peace and protect pilgrims, Oathkeepers that participate in ceremony and ritual, and Heralds that relay the Voice across the land. These men can often be petitioned in Ivarstead or at the foot of the steps.
Let it be known across the Holds:
- The Greybeards will accept the petitions of the pious and men of renown seeking wisdom.
- The Greybeards will periodically accept students who will be raised in the ways of High Hrothgar.
- The Greybeard Council will consist of talented diplomats and renowned heroes from across Skyrim who advise the Greybeards.
